Dinner Groupers is a "gourmet" food based get together started in the Reagan administration (seriously) by my colleague Sue when she was in grad... uh... high... wait... let's call it elementary school. The idea is that a bunch of poor grad students would get together once a month, host a food-genre themed party and everyone would make recipes around that theme. Well the tradition is now in its 23rd year, and Teresa and I hosted "Dinner Groupers - Persian BBQ" at our home.
Luckily no one was food poisoned and everything tasted superb. We had ghemeh, mastokhiar, jujeh kabob, veggie kabob, shirazi salad, corn (also known as maize in your country), baklava, a wonderful creamy dessert that I can't remember the name of and lots of shiraz wine.

The women of course! The men didn't bring their reading glasses, so it made it harder for them to read the questions properly :-)
