What a whirlwind of a month. I can't believe we did so much or have so many photos.
Julian is still standing like a champ but has yet to make his first step on his own. He also is talking up a storm. We are in a world of hurt folks.
This month, he had tons of fun at his friend Lexi's 1st birthday party. Then he had a great ride on a backhoe that happened to be in his parents backyard (still not sure why, but it showed up one day).
Now speaking of a ride, imagine this... you've been driving for 10 hours... your eyes bleary, your bladder full, your stomach empty... your mind disturbingly empty of all thoughts except the voice of Sir Alec Guiness echoing in your head...
"He will learn patience." - Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi
...and so it was.
After 2,342 miles in a car with Julian and he is bound to learn patience, right?
When Teresa and I planned to drive from Midland to Montreal (12 hours) to New Hampshire (5 hours) to Connecticut (5 hours) to Niagara Falls (7 hours) to Midland (6 hours)... we questioned our sanity. Or, to be more accurate, questioned if we would retain our sanity after such a trip.
In Montreal, Julian was exposed to some historical buildings and really enjoyed it (you can tell by this picture). Seriously. He had that face on the whole time.
In NH, he met up with his friends Emily, Allison, Conner, and Alex where they had tons of fun eating goldfish together and beating off the mosquitoes.
After NH, Julian saw his grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousin.... it was a wonderful crazy week! Best of all, Julian was fantastic in the car. A real trooper.
Now for those of you who are thinking, "Wait, you came within 120 miles of my house and didn't stop by to visit/stay overnight/move in?" Yes, a million apologies. One of the problems with driving 2,342 miles by car is you are literally driving for 5 days of a one week vacation. We'll be sure to catch you next time.
Julian is now 11 months old and dangerously close to that magical 1 year mark. Teresa tells me that kids start feeding themselves, using the toilet, walking, and doing their own taxes by the time they turn 1 year old. I'm beginning to think that she is humoring me because Julian is only doing half of those things and has just 27 days left.
